Time to skate!

Both the deep and the shallow part of the bowl are now finished, and in a couple of days the whole thing will be completed. But why wait to try the bowl out hen we have so many skate eager kids around? As our concrete workers continued with the finishing, we brought out a skate board and let the kids have a go..
Many people gathered around and we all got to enjoy what we have built, good work everybody!
Skate Bowl: We're Getting There!

The deep part of the bowl is almost done, so when the concrete on the bowls floor is all set it's skate time! For every finished section our skills and confidence grows. There are still some tricky sections ahead but we estimate that the bowl will be complete within a week or so. Here are some photos of the build so far.
The skate bowl adventure continues...

The work continues and if everything keeps going as well as they do now, the bowl will be finished by the time July is ending..just as planned. A few of our volunteers are leaving us this week, so we say thank you to Lachlan, Hugo, Björn and Mårten, good work and welcome back to try out the bowl!
We are so lucky to have our volunteers, they seem to have endless energy. From early morning until the sun goes down everyone helps out to make this happen, and in between we go out surfing. This week has offered big waves!
The first drop in!

The skate bowl is coming into shape but due to a heavy rain we had to take one day off. One of our volunteers, Björn, who is also a dedicated skater stayed his last day with us yesterday and we just had to let him try a drop in on the first section..

SKATE BOWL-DAY 3

Day 3 started with a dawn surf at 5.30am followed by breakfast and some well earned relaxing. We all knew this was an important day in the building process, time to put us all to the test. Almost none of the volunteers have experience of this kind of work, but with good management, a lot of enthusiasm and eagerness to learn almost anything is possible.
THE BUILDING OF THE SKATE BOWL HAS BEGUN!
